Fall 2007 Semester: Transition Seminars will begin the week of September 10, 2007.

Transition seminars are one-credit courses that serve as an introduction to the University, to the School of Arts and Sciences, and to the services that SAS provides. The purpose of the seminars are to facilitate successful academic performance in the first semester and beyond, to help students develop the computing and information technology skills necessary to succeed in class and elsewhere, and to assist students in their adjustment to the University.

Course Objectives

  1. Help transfer students to make a smooth transition to Rutgers,
  2. Provide the information and self-assessment skills necessary to facilitate successful academic performance and to address developmental needs during the first term,
  3. Begin the development of necessary information technology skills and provide an introduction to the computer resources available at Rutgers,
  4. Provide students with information about the services available at the College that will ensure academic success, and
  5. Promote the student's successful connection with the institution academically and socially.

Every transfer student will be registered in a transition seminar during their first semester.
