Adding Classes

Students may ADD classes from Tuesday, January 22 through Tuesday, January 29, according to the schedule below.Review your classes when you finish adding courses.

Monday, January 28 is the last day to drop a class without a “W"


Class periods on the three New Brunswick Campuses (Busch/Livingston, CAC/Downtown New Brunswick, and Cook/Douglass) are staggered, with the starting times of first period set at 8:10am for CAC/DNB, 8:40am for B/L, and 9:15am for C/D. Travel time between campuses must be a minimum of 50 minutes for daytime classes and 40 minutes for evening classes (after 4:30pm). Registration Assistance

Staff from the Registrar's Office will be in Records Hall on the College Avenue Campus, the Administrative Services Building on the Busch Campus, College Hall on the Douglass Campus, and Lucy Stone Hall on the Livingston campus from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from January 22-January to assist students who have obtained permission for late registration, maximum credit overrides, time conflicts, and prerequisite overrides. After January 29, the Registrar’s staff will be in the Administrative Services Building on the Busch Campus.

To add a class after January 29, go to the department offering the course, then to an SAS Academic Advising Center (Milledoler Hall, College Ave. Campus; Lucy Stone Hall, Livingston Campus; College Hall, Douglass Campus, Busch Campus Center, Busch Campus). Additions made after January 29 will require a Special Permission # and a dated letter from the instructor.


Academic Advising

Deans will be available on a walk-in basis in the SAS Academic Advising Centers and in all
departments beginning January 22. Advising by appointment will resume Monday, January 28.

website at https://www.acs.rutgers.edu/grades or hear it on the Touchtone Telephone Registration System.


Important Deadlines

Last Day to Drop a Course Without a “W” Monday, January 28
Last Day to Add a Course Tuesday, January 29
Last Day for Seniors to elect the Pass/No Credit option Monday, February 18
Last Day to Add 2nd Half Mini Courses Monday, March 24
Last Day to Drop by Withdrawal to 12 Credits Monday, March 24
Last Day to Withdraw from College Monday, April 14

Important Note!

You may use Webreg or the phone to withdraw from courses through March 24. Traditional students MUST maintain a minimum load of 12 GRADED credits (“W” is NOT considered to be a grade); the maximum load is 20.5 credits.

It is the personal responsibility of all students to confirm that they are registered appropriately. Check your registration status to be certain that withdrawal attempts are successful!!

Requests for permission for part-time status must be approved before the first day of classes.
