Incoming Students

Scholarships for all incoming students are awarded through the Office of University Undergraduate Admissions at the time of admission to Rutgers.

Continuing Students

Scholarships for continuing SAS students are awarded through the School of Arts and Sciences Scholarship Office.

To be eligible to be invited to apply, a student must:

  • Have been enrolled in the School of Arts and Sciences in the 2008-2009 academic year (Note: students completing the graduation requirements of Douglass College, Livingston College, Rutgers College, and University College are considered School of Arts and Sciences students.);
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.700 at the end of the Spring 2009 semester; and
  • Be enrolled in the School of Arts and Sciences (this includes Douglass College, Livingston College, Rutgers College, University College, and the School of Arts and Sciences, but not the School of Engineering, the School of Pharmacy, the College of Nursing, the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, or the Mason Gross School of the Arts) in Fall 2009 and/or Spring 2010. Please note: If you are majoring in a Rutgers Business School major and your school code (what's listed in Degree Navigator) is School of Arts and Sciences (01), you are eligible to apply.

The basic range for a School of Arts and Sciences Excellence Award is $750-$5000. The selection process will be rigorous: recipients must have a strong academic record, a strong record of service to the university and/or the local or home community, and must submit strong application materials (essay, resume, etc.).

If you are eligible to apply, please click on the link below.  All applications are due by Friday,
