Incoming Students
Scholarships are awarded through the Office of University Undergraduate Admissions at the time of admission to Rutgers.
Continuing Students
For the 2008-2009 academic year, scholarships for continuing students will be awarded through the School of Arts and Sciences Scholarship Office. |

To be eligible to be invited to apply, a student must:
- Have been enrolled in the School of Arts and Sciences in the 2007-2008 academic year (Note: students completing the graduation requirements of Douglass College, Livingston College, Rutgers College, and University College are considered School of Arts and Sciences students.);
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.700 at the end of the Spring 2008 semester; and
- Be enrolled in the School of Arts and Sciences (this includes Douglass College, Livingston College, Rutgers College, University College, and the School of Arts and Sciences, but not the School of Engineering, the School of Pharmacy, the College of Nursing, the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, or the Mason Gross School of the Arts) in Fall 2008 and/or Spring 2009.
The basic amount for a School of Arts and Sciences Excellence Award is $500 (some awards are in a larger amount). The selection process will be rigorous: recipients must have a strong academic record, a strong record of service to the university and/or the local or home community, and must submit strong application materials (essay, resume, etc.).
The application process was announced on June 1, 2008. Applications were due on July 11, 2008. Application dates for the 2009-2010 academic year will be announced at the conclusion of the Spring 2009 term.
