Spring 2021 Covid-19 Academic Standing Update
We recognize that the COVID-19 pandemic continues to disrupt the lives of our students and your families. In consideration of this Rutgers has allowed students the option to use PNC to address course work that has been adversely affected by pandemic disruptions. While use of the NC option to replace grades of D and F can preserve your GPA it does not recognize the larger negative impact it may have on your overall degree progress.
Every credit not earned impacts more than just your GPA. Failure to earn credit delays your timely declaration of a major and/or minor, slows your credit accumulation, jeopardizes continuing financial aid eligibility for some and adds immediate expense for others. Collectively, every credit not earned threatens your time to completion and increases the likelihood of being able complete a degree at all.
As it remains our primary objective to continue to support you through these difficult times and to keep you on track toward your successful and timely degree completion, during Covid-19 with PNC in force, students failing to demonstrate satisfactory academic progress towards their degree will be assessed an Academic Standing Status.
