Last Day to Withdraw from a Class
Monday, March 26, 2018

THE LAST DAY TO WITHDRAW FROM A CLASS IS

MONDAY, MARCH 26!

(Yes!  The deadline has been extended a week since many midterms were affected by the storm)

REMEMBER:

THIS DEADLINE APPLIES TO ALL CLASSES - EVEN IF YOU HAVEN'T GOTTEN GRADES BACK YET - EVEN IF YOU HAVEN'T TAKEN A TEST YET!  YOUR INSTRUCTOR CANNOT OVERRIDE THIS DEADLINE

!IN ORDER TO WITHDRAW FROM A CLASS, YOU MUST REMAIN REGISTERED FOR AT LEAST 12 CREDITS

DON'T FORGET TO CHECK YOUR SCHEDULE ON WEBREG AFTER YOU ATTEMPT TO WITHDRAW - MAKE SURE IT WORKED!

Questions?

  1. Is there any way I can add another class now so that I can withdraw from a class and still have 12 credits?
YES….but time is running out!!  There are some short, mini-classes that have not yet started, but space is very limited.  Come to an Advising Center IN PERSON to see what’s available – it’s not possible to use WebReg to add a class at this time – only a dean can manually override the system, which is why you need to come in person.  Don’t wait – come today!
  2. I won't get my test or paper back until after March 26 and my instructor said it would be OK to wait - can I wait till I know how I'm doing before I withdraw?
No - the last day to withdraw from a class is March 26 – this is already a 1-week extension beyond the published deadline.   Even if you haven't received any grades yet, you must decide whether or not to commit to the class.  Your instructor cannot grant an extension to the deadline.
  3. I'm a Nontraditional student, can I withdraw below 12 credits before March 26?
Yes - current non-traditional students are not required to carry 12 credits (although there is no refund), but your health insurer and financial aid or scholarship provider may still require 12 credits.  It's a good idea to check with them first!  March 26 is still the last day to withdraw from a class even for NT students.
