What to Expect at October Celebrations
Before your ceremony- Register for the ceremony you would like to attend. Closer to the ceremony date, you will be emailed a link to print your "RUWalking" card. This card is what will be scanned on stage to have your name announced.
The day of your ceremony- Upon arrival to the RAC- graduates will seat themselves on the floor in the RAC. There will be no assigned seating for graduates or guests. Everyone in attendance will be required to wear a mask, as per Rutgers University guidelines. Graduates will be able to remove their mask to walk across the stage, and will need to put it back on as soon as they exit the stage. Graduates are permitted to bring up to 4 guests. There is no registration for guests, seating will be general admission.
This celebration will comprise of welcome remarks from Executive Dean, Peter March, followed by individual graduate recognition. Graduates will have the opportunity to walk one by one across the stage and hear their pre-recorded name announced. The individual graduate recognition will be the main event, and will take up the majority of the ceremony run time. The length of the ceremony is dependent on how many graduates attend.
There will be no printed programs on-site. We will have a QR code that can direct attendees to the virtual programs on the website.
For graduates who never received their honors cords, we will have them on hand. You will need to check in and make sure you are eligible and did not already receive your cords in order to get new ones.
