Information to attend SAS Convocation!
We are delighted to invite you to the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) Convocation 2026.
Celebrate this milestone as you cross the stage in Rutgers regalia, honored by speakers, and cheered by family, friends and guests.
In order to personally recognize and accommodate all School of Arts and Sciences graduates, we will host four ceremonies- two on Tuesday, May 19th and two on Thursday, May 21st at 10am and 3pm in the Jersey Mike's Arena. Graduates will choose which ceremony they wish to attend (space permitting).
Registration is now closed!!! Tickets have been issued and information on how to access them was shared with all registered graduates. Please note all ceremonies are at full capacity.
Only one ceremony is permitted. Registration will be processed on a first-come, first- served basis. Your assigned ceremony will be confirmed only AFTER registration is completed. You will not know which ceremony you are confirmed for until then.

Is this the same as 260th Anniversary Commencement? No, the SAS Convocation is different than the 260th Annual University Commencement, which is on Sunday, May 17th. The 260th Anniversary Commencement ceremony will confer degrees on all New Brunswick and Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences graduates but does not include individual student recognition. Convocation events are school-specific and will recognize graduates individually by name.
Do I need to register for a parking pass for the SAS Convocation? No. Parking will be available in the Yellow and Green lots near the Jersey Mike's Arena. We encourage all attendees to carpool as parking is limited.
How many guests can I bring? Do I need to register them? In order to accommodate all SAS graduates and their families and friends, graduates are limited to 5 guests. Guest names do not need to be registered, but tickets will be issued and must be presented digitally upon entry to the ceremony. Anyone attending who will be in a seat will need a ticket. Guests under the age of 2 who will not be seated in a seat do not need a ticket.
What’s an RUWalking Card and how do I get it? The RUWalking card is used to identify individual graduates as names are called when crossing the stage. A link to your RUWalking card will be sent to your Rutgers email address prior to the event date. The RUWalking card is NOT your ticket for entry. Graduates will also need to show their ceremony ticket, which will be issued through Athletics in the student ticket portal.
Where do I get regalia? Regalia is only available now in Barnes & Noble. Pre-orders shipped to Barnes & Noble will be ready for pick-up shortly. Graduates must be wearing regalia to participate.
Do I need to attend the 259th Anniversary Commencement and the SAS Convocation? No. You may choose to attend both or whichever ceremony you prefer.
If my major is through another school (SCI, SMLR, Bloustein, etc.), do I attend their celebration or the SAS Convocation? You may choose to attend both or whichever ceremony you prefer.
Where can I get senior portraits? Lors Photography offers Senior Portrait Sessions at the College Avenue Student Center. Seniors will receive an email from Lord with details and links to book portrait sessions. If you do not receive an email, please email or call 908-964-3040. *Please note: Graduates receive a free sitting only. Additional charges may incur.
Do you offer handicap accessibility? Parking- Handicap parking spaces are available in the Green Lot, though they cannot be reserved in advance. A drop‑off area is also located at the circle in front of the Arena, and golf carts will be available to help transport guests closer to the entrance. Seating- There is a designated ADA seating section on the concourse level in Jersey Mike’s Arena. To ensure access for all who need it, we allow up to two family members to sit with the guest in this section. Staff will be available to direct you upon arrival. The top row of the arena does not require stairs and offers another accessible option, though it is not a reserved area like the ADA section.

Are there restrictions for Jersey Mike's Arena? Jersey Mike's Arena bag policy will be in effect. You can find information here.
Will there be photos taken at the ceremony that graduates can purchase? Professional photographers from Pro Pics will capture each graduate’s special moment during the ceremony. Graduates, please register at www.RutgersPhotos.com before your ceremony to receive your commencement photo proofs as soon as they are available.
