• FAQ Type: Academic Standing
  • FAQ Response:

A student’s record will be restored to Satisfactory Standing under the following conditions:

    • Grade Changes: If a grade change for course work from the most recent semester improves the term GPA to 2.00 or higher, the student's standing may be restored. To report any grade changes, email .
    • Limits of New Course Work: New course work completed after the semester ends does not affect the term GPA used to determine Academic Warning or Academic Probation status. Academic standing is based solely on the GPA from the official final grades reported for that semester.

    Important Considerations:

    • Repeated Courses: Using the repeated course policy to replace a grade of D or F in your cumulative GPA does not automatically change your Academic Warning or Academic Probation status. Your standing is based on the GPA at the end of the semester.
    • Summer and Winter Courses: Although these courses can improve your cumulative GPA, they do not affect your status of Academic Warning or Academic Probation, as they are completed after the semester ends.

    Criteria for Satisfactory Standing:

    • Fall Semester: To restore Satisfactory Standing, the term GPA at the end of the Fall Semester must be 2.00 or higher.
    • Spring Semester: To restore Satisfactory Standing, the term GPA at the end of the Spring Semester must be 2.00 or higher, and the cumulative GPA must meet the required standard for the student’s designated graduation date.
